About Us

Art+Archaeology organises art residencies, exhibitions, lectures, workshops and events. It aims to research and enhance connections between artistic and archaeological practice.

Art+Archaeology is run by archaeologist, Dr Helen Wickstead and artist, Leo Duff. The project is funded by educational and charitable grants. We would like to thank our funders and partner organisations, especially the Caroline Humby-Teck Trust.

Founded in 2003, Art+Archaeology has worked with nine artists on two archaeological excavations - the Stonehenge Riverside Project and the Shovel Down Project, Dartmoor. Work has been shown at exhibitions in the UK, Ireland and China. Lectures and workshops have involved schoolchildren, students, archaeologists and gallery visitors.
